VILLIERS V10 MAZDA MX5 CONVERSION

Villiers are developing an installation / conversion kit to install their 2 litre V10 engine into a Mk1 -2 Mazda MX5. The creation of the kit and the new engine installation will be filmed by the online motoring blog Drive Tribe and shown online in a series of programs later this year.
Drive Tribes presenter Michael Fernie said:
” I’m confident and excited that this will be a very special content series, both for BDI and DriveTribe.
As I’ve said before, I see it as a three-part series, with episode one being the restoration, episode two being the fitting of the engine and episode three being the finishing of the project and a road test.”
After initial trial fitting of the V10 block into the MX5,s engine bay it almost looks like it was designed for it!! The photos below show the narrow angle V10 block has plenty of space around it even with the exhaust headers in place and it bolts right up to the stock bellhousing via an adapter plate.
Villiers will offer the V10 engine and full conversion kit for sale later this year after thorough testing.
Villiers expects the motor to rev to 10,000rpm and produce around 200bhp in mild tune
